RE: I-77 south from Ohio to I-85

There is a small family campground at the intersection of I-70 and I-77 in Ohio. 1 mile west on I-70 and off on that exit. Spring Valley RV Park Cambridge, OH

RE: I-77 South thru WV and VA ?? Good/Bad or Ugly??

If you are going from Michigan, unless you have a reason for going to I-77 in Ohio, I would take US23 out of Toledo and travel it to Chillicothe and pick up US 35 to Winfield, WV and jump on I-64 there to Charleston. Pick up I-77 at Charleston. Considerably shorter distance mostly 4 lane.
Or take I-75 to Wapakoneta, OH and then take US 33 to Columbus. Take I-270 south around Columbus to US 23 south towards Chillicothe.

RE: Hatfield-McCoy Trails, has anyone been?

Pm me. Not sure about October. When are you thinking about going? We could try to schedule for that weekend. As for December, have to watch the weather. West Virginia mountains can get nasty. We are all off for Christmas from December 24 until January 2 or 5th, so we might be able to go then.

RE: Hatfield-McCoy Trails, has anyone been?

We're planning to ride trails near Beckley weekend of September 13. Will only be a one day trip from the inlaws home. Part of the H-M system but different area than what husband rode over 4th of July.

RE: Hatfield-McCoy Trails, has anyone been?

Stay in the town of Man (look under accomodations - Trailriders Lodge). If you can't find it, pm me and I will look it up. We're planning a trip in October. Make sure you have helmets and eye protection if not full face. Check regulations for riding age if you have children. $50.00 for pass to ride the trails.
Trail from Man to Gilbert is about 35 miles long. Nice trail.
Fuel will be more expensive in WV. Fill up in Virginia before crossing the border. Renos in Logan is a nice family restraunt.

RE: Cutting Boards

I buy the cheapy ones at the local flea market (3 for $1.00). They are flexible and protect my counter tops. If they get scratched, I just toss them at that price.

RE: Have you seen this yet?

I did a search for Smokey Bear and fire and didn't come up with a topic so I started the new topic. Glad someone was alert, but apparently the ad is back. I've seen it twice tonight.

RE: Smokey Bear ad asking ATVers to turn off their vehicles

I have seen that commercial a couple of times in the last few days. Apparently it's back. At least in Ohio where we are now entering a drought condition.

Have you seen the new prevent forest fires ads? The ad has two guys. Smokey Bear (girl's voice) tells them not to start their ATVs. ATVs start forest fires. Then you see a girl with a bicycle instead of Smokey and the guys start pushing the ATVs.
I didn't catch who made the ad, but I don't know of any forest fires started by ATVs. Do you? Looks like another way to limit ATV riding.

RE: Quad for teen daughter ?

I just bought a used Honda 250EX. It is quick and peppy. My sister-in-law bought a new one around the same time. Hers is sluggish compared to the one I bought. I would suggest a Honda 350 Rancher. Nice size without being to big to handle.

RE: NEEDED: Unusual Ice Cream Recipes

I had some left over cherrypie filling last time, so I added it to a basic vanilla ice cream. Cherry pie ice cream.

RE: vocal cats

I have a cat that is talkative. He is a short haired bluepoint with blue eyes and white mittens and nose. His mother was a calico. Father was ?. The other kittens in the litter were gray/black striped, gray and white, yellow, and pure black. He was the only one with the siamese coloring. Some of the other kittens had the blue eyes but others had green eyes.

RE: kitten loves water

I had a cat that would jump into the bathtub when someone was taking a bath if she could.
My current cat likes to drink from the water faucet - runing water is much colder than the water in the bowl. He will drink from the bowl, but then he dipd his paw in and licks off the water. He doesn't like baths or the shower. When it is warm in the house, he will lay in the sink bowl - maybe because the porcelain is cold.

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

If you are in Cincinnati, I assume you are looking at Raper's RV. Might also want to check Best Buy at Richmond, IN or Springfield, OH to give him a little competition. I know Best Buy had some really nice 5th wheels on their lot earlier this summer.

RE: W.W LE3505

Contact the manufacturers for your appliances and you basically have the manual that Weekend Warrior gave to buyers. The only other book given to us was a small manual with general camping advice which you can buy at any rv dealer.

RE: Need Microwave

We bought a Samsung microwave of the same dimensions as the factory installed and had the dealer order the install kit. As a result, we have what looks like a factory install of one third of the price. Less than $100 instead of $350.

RE: Weekend Warrior, the good memories

I can't say we haven't had problems, but nothing major. We've had problems with our Lance too. But neither have had problems bad enough to make us regret our decision. I've never known anyone who has bought something without something that was 100% perfect - auto, home, rv, etc.
We have a 2006 SLC3505. We ordered it in September 2004 and picked it up December 23. Weekend Warrior sold us the unit at 2005 prices because they were switching over when we ordered. Only a couple of weeks after we picked up the unit, we had one of the worsh ice storms in decades. The Warrior came through it in excellent condition except for one minor thing - all of the decals on one side were peeled at the top. Weekend Warrior replaced every one on the drivers side. Right after that our dealer went out of business and for about a year the closest dealer was 4 hours away. Our rear door leaked and one speaker didn't work. Warrior sent us a rear door gasket and the speakers and we did the work ourselves.
The only other issue we have had has been with the tv cabinet in the living room. They fixed it too.
Just last week, we had a bad storm at the campground. The camper on the drivers side had a 3" branch shoved completely through the side of their camper. We had 4" branches crammed under the rear of our hauler and from the locations, knew that some had to have hit the unit. No damage of any kind.
We've been extremely happy with our Warrior. Considering we spent almost a year looking before we bought and I had a stack of information a foot high, we bought the one that suited our needs and haven't been upset. We debated the Raptor and the NextLevel but ended up with the Warrior.

RE: Thor CA SOLD?!?!?!?

The Thor offices are located at the Airstream factory. Every time I drive by there, I'm amazed at the bubble campers sitting there. Can't make money with them sitting at the factory.
I have a feeling we are going to see more of this. Companies are going to be downsizing or going out of business. We have a WW and look at them.
